Introducing Shakespeare

Women weren't allowed on the stage so women's roles were played by men. The men wear costumes, props, and make-ups to look like women.

Act 1

Scene 1 questions:

  1. Antonio is depressed without knowing why. His friends suggest the two reasons.

Answers:
1. I think no because before Antonio came to borrow money he insulted Shylock by calling him a dog and by kicking him and he also spat on him
