The Freedom Writers

In the past 3 days, we have been watching a movie called "The Freedom Writers", we just finished watching it today and I had a pretty good time. The movie was about how a teacher taught students how to view life differently. At first the students had trouble getting along with each other but over time they became friends with one another with the help of the teacher, Erin.

In ESOL, we are reading a book about surviving in the wilderness, the book is called "The River". We are also creating games on Kahoot about the book.

What I like:
What I like about this topic is that we get to read an interesting book and also learn the things about surviving in the wild.

What I don't like:
I don't think I dislike anything about the book because it is interesting

I would create a Kahoot game based on the book 

Music Reflection

What have you enjoyed about music this year?

- I think I enjoyed pretty much everything we did this year in music

What has been your favorite task and why?

- My favorite task was when we had to make music without using any instruments

Did you complete a class performance? How was it? Why not?

- Yes, I completed 2 class performances,, it was fun

Is there anything you did not have the opportunity to do/learn?

- No

How do bush fires start and how has climate change made them more common?

- Bushfires tend to occur when light and heavy fuel loads in Eucalypt forests have dried out, usually following periods of low rainfall

What are 3 ways you could fireproof your house if you lived in an area likely to get bush fires?

- Brick, stainless steel, and pink bats

When something burns it combusts, what is the difference between complete and incomplete combustion?

- When a fuel undergoes complete combustion, it releases the maximum amount of energy from the fuel being reacted. Incomplete combustion is also a reaction between oxygen and fuel but the products are carbon monoxide, water, and carbon

Should the government require children to be vaccinated for preventable diseases?

- Immunisation- a simple and effective way - to protect your children from any diseases including serious ones.

- Vaccines can also protect people from diseases which can include amputation of an arm or any parts of your body, paralysis of limbs, hearing loss, convulsions, brain damage, and death.

- And the best part is that it can make you immune for your entire life.

Volcanoes

Aim - to make a volcano using newspapers and erupt it

Method - glue a bunch of newspapers together and make it look like a volcano. After that, paint it with whatever colour you like to make it more realistic

Hypothesis - 12 to 1 ratio, adding vinegar to baking soda gives you an immediate reaction. Adding baking soda to vinegar, the reaction is delayed by then fizzes the same amount. More vinegar is better. A 12 to1 ratio of vinegar to baking soda caused a fizzing explosion
